About Emma

Mini Moments is a local, non-franchised company that started supporting new parents in 2012. My main aim of Mini Moments is to provide quality support and courses that empower mums and dads on their journey from conception right through into the first year of their new baby’s life – creating opportunities of mini moments of special time with each other, other parents and their new babies in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Hello!!!

I set up Mini Moments as I am passionate about caring through pregnancy, birth and becoming a new family. This passion has been developed through both my own pregnancies and time as a new mum, as well as others that I have supported. I have had two children, Jake and Scott, and have been on different journey’s at every stage with both. This has led me to have a strong desire to support new parents fully to empower and smooth the transition into parenthood in a practical, emotional and physical way to ensure that they have the best experience of pregnancy, birth and becoming a new parent as possible. I am able to do this effectively on a weekly basis through my pregnancy and baby classes, which also gives mums a womanhood support network which continues long after they finish their time with me – this is so lovely and fulfilling to see develop. I also love supporting new parents more in depth as a Birth Doula (www.emmawhitehouse.co.uk) – getting to know them fully during the pregnancy period to ensure that they have a trusted familiar face to support them in every way during their antenatal, birth and postnatal time. I feel honored to be able to say that I have supported over 1000 new mummies and their babies. I love the empowerment that birth has upon a woman and her family and love being able to be a part of the journey with her and feel very privileged to be able to share the joy of becoming a Mummy, whether it be for the first, second or sixth time.

I LOVE doing what I do and am very lucky in every aspect – I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon,

Training

I have completed all of my training with providers who have a commitment to quality training and require continuing professional development. My main training was done with Birthlight™, Nurturing Birth and Touch Learn. I continue to enhance my training and knowledge by attending conferences, CPD workshops and courses each year – this is formally required by Birthlight and Doula UK memberships. Birthlight™ have professional accreditation with the Royal College of Midwives and FEDANT (Federation of Antenatal Educators) who I am a registered member of (Registration No: 12721). I have been trained in Spinning Babies techniques since 2013, refreshing in 2016 and integrate these teachings into classes to support my clients appropriately.

All of the training providers that I have personally chosen are committed to enhancing and supporting the well-being of women and their partners through every aspect that may arise during the journey of pregnancy and birth, and to support parents to make a smooth transition into parenthood and consequently be able to relax in shared enjoyment of their new life together.

I have over 20 years experience of teaching, coaching and mentoring adults and children in a variety of situations and hold an enhanced DBS certificate (previously known as a CRB). I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) and have a BSc (Hons) in Biology with Food Science and Nutrition.
